US Navy stopped escorting ships through the Hormuz

Announced the US Department of Defense, "Pentagon", on Wednesday, the US Navy stopped escorting merchant ships through the Strait of Hormuz, a week after the start of this procedure.

A spokesman for the "Pentagon", Colonel Steve Warren, said that the decision was taken after US and British escort merchant ships over several days without incident.

He stressed that the US Navy ships in the region is continuing to do the usual security functions.
