De Mistura: What is happening in the Geneva consultations on Syria no peace talks

With regard to the UN plan for a cease-fire in Aleppo and to address the humanitarian situation, the UN envoy acknowledged that it has not yet succeeded.

And it launched consultations in Geneva Tuesday and aims to resume negotiations later to resolve the crisis in Syria, and the international community seeks to re-parties to the conflict to the negotiating table via the "Geneva -3" for a political solution based on decisions "Geneva -1".

The discussions will take place bilaterally between de Mistura, or his deputy, and the various delegations separately in order to know the extent of their willingness to move from the stage of consultations to negotiations based on the Geneva statement issued on June 30 2012.

The consultations will take place between the international mediator and representatives of the parties to the Syrian conflict in an atmosphere of secrecy in the Palais des Nations in Geneva, and will be subject to offices hosted security guarded.

The UN spokesman, Ahmad Fawzi, said earlier that the international mediator to request a news blackout on these consultations.
